Senior Accountant

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Accountant to join a well-established and highly respected public practice accounting firm in Queensland. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong Australian public practice experience who enjoys managing client relationships while delivering high-quality taxation and business advisory services.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of SME clients, receive ongoing professional development, and benefit from a structured career pathway into management.

• Manage a portfolio of SME clients
• Build and maintain strong client relationships
• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns
• Provide taxation compliance services
• Handle Division 7A, Capital Gains Tax (CGT), and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) matters
• Assist with business advisory projects
• Provide professional tax and accounting advice to clients
• Ensure compliance with Australian taxation legislation
• Review financial information for accuracy and compliance
• Liaise with clients regarding accounting and taxation matters
• Support continuous improvement of accounting processes
• Maintain high standards of professional service delivery
• Work collaboratively with the wider accounting team
• Mentor and support junior team members where required

• CA or CPA qualified or nearing completion
• Minimum 4 years of Australian Public Practice accounting experience
• Strong experience preparing tax returns and financial statements
• Sound knowledge of Australian taxation legislation
• Experience managing client relationships
• Experience with Division 7A, CGT, and FBT matters
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Professional presentation and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• High level of attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple client deadlines
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
