The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Small Engine Mechanic to join a leading lifting and heavy equipment service provider based in New South Wales, Australia. This full-time, permanent position offers an excellent opportunity to work with specialised lifting equipment in a professional and safety-focused environment. Visa sponsorship is available for suitably qualified international candidates who meet the role requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on lifting equipment before deployment
  • Diagnose mechanical faults in engines and associated mechanical systems
  • Repair or replace defective components in accordance with manufacturer specifications
  • Inspect returned equipment and complete condition reports and required repairs
  • Maintain accurate service, inspection, and maintenance records
  • Carry out sandblasting, spray painting, and equipment labelling when required
  • Prepare and set up equipment for upcoming projects
  • Work closely with workshop and field service teams to support daily operations
  • Prepare lifting equipment, tools, and materials for installations
  • Monitor workshop consumables and report stock requirements
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant AQF Certificate III qualification or equivalent in Small Engine Mechanics or a related trade
  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time relevant work experience as a Small Engine Mechanic
  • Proven ability to diagnose and repair small engines and mechanical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
  • Experience working with cranes, lifting equipment, or heavy machinery is advantageous
  • Forklift licence or other relevant industry tickets are desirable
