Stonemason

An established stone and construction business in Queensland is seeking a skilled and experienced Stonemason to join its team on a full-time basis. This role is suited to a qualified tradesperson with proven experience in stone fabrication and installation, particularly benchtops, splashbacks and other custom stone features.

The position involves working from technical plans, accurately preparing stone materials and completing high-quality installations.

• Interpret plans, drawings and technical specifications for stonework
• Measure, cut, shape and finish stone materials to precise specifications
• Fabricate and install stone benchtops, splashbacks, fireplaces and barbecues
• Complete stone installation work to a high standard of quality and accuracy
• Inspect finished work to ensure required quality and safety standards are met
• Work closely with installation and construction teams to coordinate projects
• Use specialised stone-cutting, shaping and installation tools safely and effectively
• Maintain tools, machinery and equipment in good working condition
• Identify and resolve issues during fabrication and installation
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times

• Formal training or qualification in stonemasonry
• Trade certificate in stonemasonry
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant stonemasonry experience
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proven skills in cutting, shaping, finishing and installing stone
• Experience with specialised stonemasonry tools and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good problem-solving and practical decision-making skills
• Ability to work effectively within a construction and installation team
• Good physical fitness and stamina for manual and installation work
• Willingness to meet applicable visa and sponsorship requirements
