Trades Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and practical Workshop Trades Assistant to join a well-established industrial repair and rotating equipment business in Western Australia.

This is a full-time, hands-on workshop opportunity suited to someone who is mechanically minded, comfortable working with tools and eager to develop their trade skills. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople and assist with motors, pumps, generators and other rotating equipment used across industrial, mining and commercial environments.

Previous workshop or mechanical experience is highly regarded, but the right attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are equally important.

• Loading and unloading equipment and materials
• Operating a forklift where licensed
• Packing completed jobs and preparing pallets
• Assisting with local deliveries and equipment pickups
• Moving motors, pumps and other heavy equipment around the workshop
• Supporting qualified tradespeople with repair and maintenance work
• Assisting with supervised dismantling of motors, pumps and rotating equipment
• Cleaning, preparing and organising components and parts
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop
• Using hand tools and workshop equipment safely
• Providing general assistance to workshop trades and technicians
• Learning workshop procedures relating to electric motors, pumps, generators and rotating equipment
• Following workplace health and safety procedures

• Previous experience in a workshop, mechanical, electrical, pump, maintenance, mining or Trades Assistant environment is highly regarded
• Mechanically minded with an interest in developing practical trade skills
• Comfortable using hand tools and workshop equipment
• Willing to perform hands-on and physically demanding work
• Reliable, punctual and responsible
• Able to follow instructions and workplace procedures
• Able to work effectively as part of a team
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Safety conscious and committed to maintaining a safe workplace
• Manual driver's licence required
• Forklift licence preferred but not essential
• Willingness to learn about motors, pumps, generators and rotating equipment
