The Opportunity

A leading trailer manufacturing business is seeking an experienced MIG Welder to join its growing production team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is suited to a skilled tradesperson with proven welding and trailer assembly experience who takes pride in producing strong, accurate and high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on steel trailer frames and components
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and welding specifications
  • Complete trailer assembly and component installation
  • Fit chassis, suspension, braking and specialised air, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Install accessories, electrical systems and customised trailer features
  • Operate welding and workshop equipment safely and efficiently
  • Inspect completed welds for structural and visual quality
  • Test installed systems and identify non-conforming materials or workmanship
  • Follow workplace safety procedures and quality standards
  • Work closely with the production team to meet manufacturing targets
  • Maintain accurate and consistent workmanship throughout the production process

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant welding and trailer assembly experience
  • Strong MIG welding skills, particularly with steel components
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Ability to use measuring tools accurately
  • Experience fitting and installing trailer components and systems
  • Strong understanding of workshop safety procedures
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Reliable, hardworking and able to work effectively within a team
  • Welding certification is an advantage but not essential
  • Must be willing to follow company safety and production procedures
