Welder Fabricator

A growing engineering and fabrication company in Victoria is seeking a skilled Welder-Fabricator to join their operations team. This is a full-time opportunity for an experienced tradesperson who takes pride in precision workmanship and enjoys hands-on fabrication and welding work.

The role involves high-quality fabrication, assembly, and welding of pipework, silencers, and light gauge tube and sheet assemblies in a supportive workshop environment.

• Perform TIG and MIG welding on light gauge tube and sheet assemblies
• Fabricate and assemble pipework, silencers, and related components to specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical plans
• Conduct quality self-checks to ensure accurate fabrication outcomes
• Complete job reports, production records, and timesheets
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace
• Follow workplace safety procedures and report hazards when identified
• Support senior fabricators on complex fabrication projects when required

• Demonstrated TIG welding experience on light gauge materials
• Proficient MIG welding capability
• Minimum 2nd year apprenticeship level or equivalent industry experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Good time management and ability to meet project deadlines
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn within a team environment
• Understanding of 5S workplace principles preferred

Desirable:

• Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (or currently undertaking)
• Experience working with mild steel, ACMS steel, or stainless steel
