The opportunity
What does this Cairns roaster want? People full of energy and drive who can take charge of the coffee programme, protect drink quality and speed, develop the baristas beside them and push product ideas forward. It is a full-time Barista job, weekdays 5am to 2pm with weekends available, and employee sponsorship applies under the FNQ DAMA.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and upskill the baristas
- Manage the barista team day to day
- Deliver a genuine, efficient coffee experience for each customer at top-tier standard
- Lead QC cupping sessions
- Work closely with the roasting team and help with green bean purchasing selections
- Carry out production roasting when needed
- Maintain WH&S standards throughout the space
Requirements and eligibility
- Experience and in-depth knowledge of specialty coffee, where Q-grader credentials or cupping, barista competition, barista training and/or roasting experience is highly advantageous
- Leadership and team-building skills that have been proven, with a love of people and customer service
- Strong time management and organisational skills
- A growth mindset, and a willingness to start at 5am
