Caregiver

This Christchurch dementia care home wants a Caregiver who is warm, reliable and ready for any shift. For overseas candidates the deciding detail is the qualification: the home is an Immigration New Zealand Accredited Employer and can sponsor a work visa where you hold a Registered Nursing degree, or a Level 3 or above caregiving qualification together with an IQA.

To stand out, match your application to the duties. Show where you have helped people shower, dress, eat and move safely, how you have followed care or therapy plans, and how you record and report changes. Dementia experience is a strong plus, and earlier caregiving work is preferred.

It is a permanent role of 30 hours a week or more. Rates by level are $23.95 (Level 1), $24.06 (Level 2), $26.16 (Level 3) and $28.25 (Level 4 and above).

• Deliver personal care such as showering and dressing in a way that is holistic, effective and culturally safe
• Help residents eat, move about and communicate
• Follow therapy plans and add to care planning for people living with dementia
• Observe residents, report on their progress and speak up promptly about any change or concern
• Keep records accurate and up to date
• Back up registered nurses inside their scope of practice
