Key responsibilities

  • Turn site measurements and drawings into accurate timber ramps, steps and bathroom accessibility work, adjusting on site as conditions require
  • Complete timber framing, structural assembly and installation
  • Carry out minor concreting for landings and pathways
  • Check that workmanship meets building, safety and accessibility standards
  • Log job information, photos and site notes on a tablet

Requirements and eligibility

  • Carpenter with a completed trade qualification and at least 3 years' relevant experience
  • Proven residential carpentry experience, with a history of building ramps, steps or similar structures
  • Knowledge of the relevant building codes and accessibility standards
  • Able to interpret drawings and work independently
  • Own carpentry tools and a valid ABN
  • Current Australian driver's licence
  • Appropriate Australian work rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship
  • Able to start at 6:00 am when required
  • Able to complete a background check and a pre-employment medical assessment
