The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Member Engagement & Communications Specialist to join a leading member-focused financial organisation in Southland, New Zealand. This role will play a key part in supporting a major digital transformation by delivering engaging communication strategies that keep members informed, connected, and confident throughout the transition.

Working closely with internal teams and stakeholders, you will develop and execute multi-channel communication campaigns, improve member engagement, enhance customer data quality, and support frontline teams to deliver an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver member communication strategies across digital and traditional channels
  • Plan and manage multi-channel engagement and marketing campaigns
  • Create timely and relevant customer communications throughout the member lifecycle
  • Support branch and customer service teams with communication initiatives
  • Monitor campaign performance and member feedback to improve engagement
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver communication projects
  • Improve customer contact data and communication effectiveness
  • Develop retention and engagement programmes to strengthen member relationships
  • Maintain consistent messaging across all communication channels
  • Contribute to ongoing digital transformation and customer experience initiatives

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in direct marketing, customer communications, or member engagement
  • Proven experience managing multi-channel marketing or communication campaigns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience with customer engagement or CRM platforms is advantageous
  • Project management experience is desirable
  • Previous experience within financial services is beneficial
  • Experience in lifecycle marketing is an advantage
