Disability Support Worker

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Support Worker to provide high-quality care and assistance to a young participant with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The role involves supporting daily routines, communication, independence, and community participation through compassionate and person-centred support.

This position offers day support and after-school support shifts in New South Wales, Australia. Sponsorship is available for suitable applicants with the required experience and skills.

• Provide personalised support to a participant with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Assist with daily routines, independence skills, and meaningful activities
• Support communication needs, including limited verbal communication
• Apply positive behaviour support strategies and redirection techniques
• Follow Behaviour Support Plans and individual support guidelines
• Recognise and respond appropriately to challenging behaviours
• Encourage confidence, social engagement, and community participation
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate updates with the support team
• Build a safe, respectful, and trusting relationship with the participant
• Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other support professionals

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working as a Support Worker or similar role
• Proven experience supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Experience assisting clients with limited verbal communication and complex behaviours
• Confident understanding and implementing Behaviour Support Plans
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Reliable, patient, compassionate, and committed to quality care
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to provide consistent and ongoing support
