Equipment Technician/ Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Equipment Technician / Diesel Mechanic to join a well-established heavy equipment operation in New Zealand. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanical tradesperson with experience in construction, forestry, heavy machinery or related equipment.

• Diagnose mechanical and technical faults on heavy equipment
• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on plant and machinery
• Inspect equipment and identify potential mechanical issues
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical and hydraulic-related problems
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard
• Use diagnostic equipment and computer systems as required
• Maintain accurate service and repair records
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Provide professional and customer-focused service
• Work collaboratively with technicians and other team members

• NZQA Level 4 qualification in Heavy Plant and Equipment or equivalent experience
• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
• Experience working with construction or forestry equipment is highly desirable
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable using computers and diagnostic systems
• Strong commitment to health and safety
• Customer-focused and professional approach
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
