Heavy Diesel Truck Mechanic

We are seeking experienced Diesel Technicians to join a well-established heavy vehicle maintenance business. This is a full-time permanent opportunity for skilled professionals who enjoy working on a diverse fleet of trucks, trailers, buses, and light commercial vehicles in a modern workshop environment.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy vehicles while working with a supportive team committed to delivering high-quality workmanship and maintaining the highest safety standards.

• Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on trucks, trailers, buses, and light commercial vehicles
• Repair and maintain braking, steering, suspension, and drivetrain systems
• Overhaul, rebuild, and repair diesel engines and transmissions
• Prepare vehicles for roadworthiness and compliance inspections
• Perform fault-finding using diagnostic equipment
• Complete mechanical repairs to manufacturer and industry standards
• Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation
• Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised, and safe
• Work collaboratively with the workshop team to achieve productivity targets
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Assist with general workshop duties as required

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Technician, Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, or equivalent recognised qualification
• Alternatively, a minimum of five years of relevant heavy vehicle industry experience
• Experience servicing and repairing trucks, trailers, buses, or commercial vehicles
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Current Class 2 driver's licence or equivalent, with willingness to progress to higher licence classes
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Own well-equipped toolbox
• Availability to work rostered half-day Saturdays
