The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician – Access/EWP to join a leading equipment services team in New Zealand. This permanent, full-time opportunity is suited to a trade-qualified technician or an experienced heavy machinery professional with strong hands-on knowledge of Access/EWP equipment.

The role involves servicing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining a range of heavy equipment across customer sites and workshop environments. You will enjoy a varied field-based position, using your technical expertise while developing your product knowledge across a wide range of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of Access/EWP equipment
  • Service and maintain scissor lifts, cherry pickers, boom lifts and similar machinery
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
  • Complete mechanical fault finding and repairs to a high standard
  • Provide technical assistance and advice to colleagues and customers
  • Attend customer sites to assess, service and repair equipment
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance within the workshop when required
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with required standards
  • Work across a varied range of machinery and equipment types

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant trade qualification in heavy diesel mechanics, machinery, engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working with a variety of machinery and equipment
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience repairing and maintaining Access/EWP equipment
  • Strong diagnostic, repair and mechanical maintenance skills
  • Experience working with petrol and diesel-powered equipment
  • Full and valid driver's licence
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across the region
  • Good communication and customer service skills
