The Opportunity

A leading community-focused organisation in Tauranga, New Zealand is seeking an experienced HR Coordinator to join their People & Engagement team. This role offers an opportunity to support a diverse workforce by delivering efficient HR services, improving employee experiences, and ensuring smooth people processes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing employment agreements, offer letters, contract variations, and HR-related correspondence
  • Coordinating employee onboarding processes, documentation, payroll requirements, and employee record management
  • Maintaining accurate HRIS records and ensuring compliance with employment processes
  • Managing Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) processes including job checks, employer accreditation requirements, visa applications, and compliance activities
  • Supporting recruitment activities and assisting with end-to-end hiring processes
  • Coordinating internal and external learning and development programmes
  • Facilitating company inductions and supporting employee engagement initiatives
  • Providing professional HR support and guidance to employees and managers
  • Developing practical HR resources, tools, and solutions to improve workplace processes
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement within HR operations
  • Ensuring all HR activities align with organisational values and employment standards

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Relevant qualification or proven experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or a related field
  • Previous experience working in an HR coordination or HR administration role
  • Strong knowledge of employment documentation, HR processes, and employee lifecycle management
  • Experience with HR information systems and digital workplace tools
  • Understanding of New Zealand employment practices and compliance requirements is highly desirable
  • Experience managing visa-related processes or Accredited Employer Work Visa requirements is advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • High attention to detail with strong administrative capability
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for supporting people and workplace culture
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees, leaders, and external stakeholders
  • Willingness to relocate and work in Tauranga, New Zealand
