The opportunity

Our client, a leading Australian electrical engineering and manufacturing business near Brisbane, is recruiting an HV/MV Electrical Engineer. The company designs, builds, tests and commissions low, medium and high voltage infrastructure and is adding to a growing engineering team.

Day to day you would be across switchboards, switchgear, switchrooms and transportable substations, alongside power distribution and protection and control work. The client also produces motor control centres and serves utilities, mining, renewable energy, infrastructure and industrial customers. Candidates already on a subclass 482 visa are welcome to apply, and 482 sponsorship is available for the right Electrical Engineer candidate.

Key responsibilities

  • Engineer HV and MV electrical systems including switchboards, switchgear, switchrooms and transportable substations

Requirements and eligibility

  • Australian registration as an Electrical Engineer
  • At least 2 years spent in a relevant industry
  • A background engineering HV or MV electrical systems, or both
  • Highly regarded: hands-on time with switchboards, substations, switchgear, power distribution or protection and control systems
  • Comfortable reading electrical drawings, specs and technical documents
  • Sharp technical thinking and a problem-solving mindset
  • Familiar with the Australian Standards that apply, and able to collaborate with the engineering, manufacturing, project and testing teams
