Maintenance Technician

Join a leading advanced manufacturing company in Gisborne Region, New Zealand, and become part of a highly automated production facility producing engineered timber products. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced Maintenance Engineers, Process Operators, or Process Technicians who enjoy working with modern automation, robotics, and industrial control systems.

Working on a 12-hour rotating shift roster (4 day shifts followed by 3 night shifts), you will play a key role in operating, maintaining, and improving a state-of-the-art production line.

• Operate and monitor a fully automated production line
• Maintain and repair automated manufacturing equipment
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation faults
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance activities
• Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery and automated systems
• Carry out quality inspections and ensure production standards are met
• Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
• Minimise equipment downtime through effective fault finding
• Work collaboratively within a skilled manufacturing team
• Attend after-hours callouts when required
• Maintain a safe and compliant working environment

• Trade qualification, Diploma, or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Dual Trade, Process Engineering, or a related field
• Experience operating and maintaining industrial manufacturing machinery
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Experience working with automated production equipment
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance and continuous manufacturing environments
• Ability to identify and implement process improvements
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts
• Willingness to participate in after-hours callouts when required
