Pipe Welding

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Pipe Welding Team Leader to join a well-established engineering and industrial maintenance company with a strong reputation for quality workmanship and employee development.

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for an experienced pipe welder, leading hand, or supervisor looking to take the next step in their career. You will lead a skilled team delivering high-quality pipe fabrication and welding solutions across a diverse range of industries including food processing, marine, aquaculture, wastewater, manufacturing, and industrial processing.

Working with both stainless steel and mild steel, you will oversee projects from planning through to completion while mentoring your team and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

• Lead and supervise a team of pipe welders and fabrication tradespeople
• Carry out hands-on pipe fabrication and welding using stainless and mild steel
• Coordinate daily job activities to ensure projects are completed safely and on schedule
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring and on-the-job training to team members
• Diagnose fabrication and welding issues and implement practical solutions
• Prepare estimates, quotations, job packs and related documentation
• Use computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel and job management systems
• Identify opportunities for additional customer work and support business growth
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and workmanship
• Liaise professionally with customers and internal teams
• Support shutdowns, preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown work when required

• Trade qualification in an engineering, fabrication or welding discipline
• Minimum 5 years' practical experience in pipe fabrication and welding
• Strong knowledge of welding processes and ASME IX or equivalent welding standards
• Experience using fabrication machinery, welding equipment and associated tools
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Previous leadership, supervisory or leading hand experience is highly regarded
• Stainless steel fabrication experience is advantageous
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
• Good computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Current driver's licence or ability to obtain one
• Excellent communication and team leadership skills
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol screening
