The Opportunity

Join an established Australian industrial services team as an Industrial Electrician specialising in field-based maintenance and technical support. This role is suited to qualified electricians who enjoy troubleshooting, working with complex electrical systems and responding to industrial equipment faults.

Full training will be provided on overhead crane and lifting equipment, making this an opportunity for experienced industrial electricians from other sectors to expand their technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical servicing and maintenance on overhead cranes, gantries, hoists and lifting equipment
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical faults across industrial equipment
  • Respond to breakdowns and carry out emergency repairs
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
  • Test, commission and troubleshoot crane electrical systems
  • Work with PLCs, motors, contactors, VSDs, limit switches and control systems
  • Identify electrical issues and implement effective repair solutions
  • Complete service reports, maintenance records and required documentation
  • Travel to local, regional and occasional interstate industrial sites
  • Participate in an on-call roster with additional penalty rates
  • Work independently in the field while receiving technical support from an experienced team

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Cert III in Electrotechnology or an equivalent qualification
  • Current Electrical Licence or Provisional Electrical Licence
  • Demonstrated industrial electrical experience
  • PLC fault-finding and diagnostic experience
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field-service environment
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10–30% outside the metropolitan area
  • Ability to work approximately 50–55 hours per week when required
  • Good communication and documentation skills
  • Willingness to complete training in overhead crane and lifting equipment systems
