The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for experienced Agricultural Machinery Operators to join a leading agricultural contracting business for the 2026/2027 season. Multiple positions are available across a range of agricultural operations, offering the opportunity to work with modern farming equipment and advanced machinery within a professional and supportive team environment.

This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining a variety of agricultural machinery used in cultivation, planting, harvesting, forage production, baling, mowing, transport, and related contracting activities. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate agricultural machinery and mobile plant across a range of farming and contracting activities
  • Operate tractors, forage harvesters, balers, mowers, rakes, drills, planters, loaders, telehandlers, trailers, and transport equipment
  • Carry out cultivation, planting, harvesting, forage production, mowing, raking, baling, wrapping, and transport operations
  • Attach, adjust, calibrate, and operate machinery according to operational requirements
  • Monitor machinery performance and make operational adjustments to maximise efficiency and productivity
  • Perform daily inspections, pre-start checks, routine servicing, and preventative maintenance
  • Identify faults and report mechanical issues requiring specialist repair
  • Transport machinery, equipment, and materials safely between work sites
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work, operating hours, inputs, and job details using digital systems
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures, operational guidelines, and compliance requirements
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team during peak seasonal periods
  • Maintain a high level of care and responsibility when operating machinery and equipment
  • Support efficient completion of agricultural contracting projects within required timeframes

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating agricultural machinery, heavy equipment, or related mobile plant
  • Demonstrated experience operating tractors and agricultural implements
  • Strong understanding of agricultural machinery operation, adjustment, and maintenance
  • Ability to carry out routine servicing, inspections, and minor mechanical repairs
  • Good mechanical aptitude and fault-identification skills
  • Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Reliable work ethic with strong attendance and time-management skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
  • Willingness to work extended hours during busy seasonal periods
  • Physically fit and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Full and clean driver's licence required
  • Class 4 or Class 5 licence highly advantageous
  • Experience operating modern agricultural equipment and precision farming technology is desirable
