Arborist

An established arboricultural business in Waikato, New Zealand is seeking an experienced Climbing Arborist to join its permanent, full-time team. This is an opportunity for a skilled arborist to work across a diverse range of tree-care environments, including residential, commercial, council, land-clearance and utility projects.

• Perform professional tree climbing and arboricultural work across a variety of projects
• Carry out tree pruning, removal and general tree-care activities safely and efficiently
• Undertake ground-based arboricultural duties as required
• Use climbing equipment, chainsaws, plant and other arboricultural equipment correctly
• Work safely at height while following established health and safety procedures
• Assist with residential, commercial, council, utility and land-clearance projects
• Assess tree conditions and contribute to appropriate tree-management solutions
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and professionalism on every project
• Work collaboratively with other arborists and ground crew members
• Maintain and care for tools, machinery, vehicles and safety equipment
• Participate in health and safety meetings, refresher training and ongoing professional development
• Follow company procedures and maintain a strong focus on quality and workplace safety
• Occasionally work additional hours outside standard working times when project requirements demand

• Minimum Level 3 NZQA qualification in Arboriculture or equivalent experience
• Minimum 2 years of professional tree-climbing experience
• Practical experience in both climbing and ground-based arboricultural duties
• Class 1 New Zealand Driver Licence, Restricted or higher
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform demanding outdoor work
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
• Professional approach to client service and arboricultural work
• Passion for tree care and delivering high-quality results
• Level 3 Utility Arboriculture qualification will be highly regarded
• Class 2 Driver Licence will be highly regarded
