Diesel Motor Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to join a busy and professional team in New Zealand. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled mechanic with strong diesel, hydraulic and electrical fault-finding abilities.

• Service and repair diesel engines and related components
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
• Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
• Repair and maintain heavy vehicles and associated equipment
• Identify faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Carry out vehicle inspections and safety checks
• Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
• Use diagnostic tools and relevant software
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised workshop
• Work effectively in workshop and outdoor environments

• Minimum 2 years' experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles
• Full Class 1 New Zealand driver's licence
• Class 4 licence would be an advantage
• Strong diesel engine fault-finding experience
• Good knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Safety-focused approach to work
• Ability to complete job documentation and service records
• Comfortable using diagnostic tools and software
• Physically fit and capable of workshop and outdoor work
• Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
• Must pass required medical assessment
• Must pass Ministry of Justice check
