Arborist

An excellent opportunity is available for multiple qualified Arborists to join a leading green asset management company in Wellington. This full-time permanent role offers consistent hours, ongoing industry training, modern equipment, and excellent career development opportunities.

You'll work with an experienced, safety-focused team carrying out tree maintenance and vegetation management across a variety of outdoor environments. The company provides high-quality PPE, climbing gear, modern machinery, and opportunities to further develop your qualifications and heavy vehicle licences

• Carry out tree pruning, removals, and general arboriculture work
• Operate chainsaws, pole saws, wood chippers, and other arborist equipment safely
• Perform climbing and aerial tree work where required
• Identify tree species and assess tree health
• Maintain safe work practices and comply with health and safety procedures
• Inspect and maintain tools, climbing equipment, and machinery
• Complete assigned work efficiently and to a high standard
• Work collaboratively with team members and communicate effectively on-site
• Participate in ongoing industry training and skill development
• Travel to different work sites when required

• NZQA Level 3 Arboriculture qualification or equivalent
• Minimum one year of arboriculture or tree work experience
• Full Class 1 Driver Licence (Class 2 preferred)
• Experience operating chainsaws, pole saws, and wood chippers
• Strong understanding of safe work practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Reliable, motivated, and safety-focused attitude
• First Aid Certificate and tree identification knowledge are advantageous
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol test
• Clear Ministry of Justice background check
