Carpenter

A leading construction employer in the Auckland region is seeking experienced Carpenters to join its growing team. This permanent full-time role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of residential and commercial construction projects, delivering high-quality workmanship on diverse building assignments.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of carpentry, including framing, formwork, cladding, concrete work, finishing, and general construction duties. This role is ideal for skilled tradespeople who can work independently, accurately interpret plans, and maintain high standards of quality and safety.

• Construct and install framing, trusses, and structural components
• Set out building sites and prepare work areas
• Install exterior cladding systems
• Complete interior finishing work including doors, windows, stairs, and fittings
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications
• Take accurate measurements and calculate material requirements
• Cut, shape, assemble, and install timber and other building materials
• Install flooring, roofing, drywall, siding, insulation, and cabinetry
• Carry out repairs, maintenance, and building inspections
• Construct formwork and assist with concrete placement
• Perform steel tying and reinforcement work
• Install bracing systems and structural supports
• Work independently or collaboratively within project teams
• Maintain high-quality workmanship across all tasks
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times
• Attend toolbox meetings and safety briefings
• Report hazards, incidents, and unsafe conditions promptly
• Assist in maintaining a safe and productive work environment

• Minimum 3 years of carpentry experience or recognised trade qualification
• Proven experience in residential and commercial construction projects
• Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
• Current Site Safe Passport or equivalent certification
• Strong understanding of New Zealand building standards, including NZS3604:2011
• Own transport and basic trade tools
• Physically fit with the ability to perform demanding construction work
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
• MEWP or Working at Heights certification advantageous but not essential
• Reliable, punctual, and professional work ethic
• Ability to pass pre-employment health and criminal record checks
• Must currently be residing in New Zealand or be eligible for employer-sponsored work visa support
