Carpenter

A well-established construction business in Victoria is seeking a skilled and qualified Carpenter to join its high-performing construction team. The role involves residential and commercial construction work, including new builds, renovations, extensions, structural carpentry, repairs and timber construction.

The successful candidate will have strong practical carpentry skills, the ability to interpret construction plans, and experience working with timber framing, flooring, external structures, doors and windows.

• Interpret construction drawings, plans and project specifications
• Measure, mark, cut and shape timber and other building materials
• Construct and assemble wall frames, roof structures, floor joists and sub-flooring
• Check structures are level, plumb, square and correctly aligned
• Install roof sheathing, fascia, wall cladding and timber door and window frames
• Assemble and install timber fittings and prefabricated components
• Complete accurate joining, fastening and finishing of timber components
• Modify and adjust materials to suit site conditions and project requirements
• Carry out carpentry repairs, alterations and replacement of damaged timber
• Construct, support and dismantle timber formwork for concrete construction
• Use hand tools, power tools, machinery and equipment safely and effectively
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment on construction sites

• Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent recognised qualification
• Practical experience in residential and/or commercial construction
• Demonstrated experience in timber framing and general carpentry
• Proficiency in using carpentry hand tools, power tools and equipment
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
• Strong understanding of measurements, dimensions and construction methods
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic construction environment
• Willingness to meet relevant Australian construction site requirements
