The Opportunity

A well-established FMCG manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter to join its permanent full-time maintenance team in NSW.

This is a hands-on mechanical maintenance role supporting a busy production environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, responding to breakdowns, completing preventative maintenance and ensuring machinery operates safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Responding to mechanical breakdowns and production equipment faults
Performing preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance
Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical equipment issues
Maintaining conveyors, chains, hydraulics and pneumatic systems
Inspecting machinery and identifying potential mechanical problems
Carrying out repairs, adjustments and component replacements
Supporting plant, machinery and workshop maintenance activities
Ensuring production equipment operates safely and reliably
Completing maintenance work orders through the CMMS
Maintaining accurate maintenance and repair records
Working closely with production and engineering teams
Supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiatives
Following workplace health, safety and environmental procedures
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment
Participating in shift work, overtime and breakdown response when required

Requirements & Eligibility

Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent qualification
Minimum 1 year of Australian mechanical maintenance experience
Previous FMCG or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
Experience with conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems
Experience working in an industrial or continuous production environment
Strong understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
Reliable, practical and safety-focused approach to work
Ability to work effectively as part of a maintenance and production team
Willingness and ability to relocate within NSW
Currently living in Australia
