CNC Mill Operator

An exciting opportunity is available for experienced CNC Mill Operators to join a leading precision engineering and advanced manufacturing company in Canterbury, New Zealand. This full-time position offers the chance to manufacture high-precision components for the medical device industry using modern CNC machining technology.

Working within a professional manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for machine setup, CNC operation, quality inspections, and continuous process improvement while maintaining the highest standards of precision and safety.

• Set up tooling and CNC milling machines
• Load raw materials onto CNC machines
• Load, verify and run CNC machining programs
• Machine precision components to required specifications
• Conduct quality inspections and accurately document inspection results
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Use precision measuring equipment to verify finished components
• Identify opportunities for machining and process improvements
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment
• Comply with workplace health and safety requirements at all times
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to achieve production targets

• Engineering trade qualification, completed apprenticeship or equivalent
• Minimum five years' experience as a CNC Setter/Operator in a precision manufacturing environment
• Experience machining to fine tolerances
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments
• Experience operating CNC milling machines
• Knowledge of FANUC controllers
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
