Gardener

An opportunity is available for an experienced Gardener to join a supportive care-focused organisation in Canterbury. The role involves maintaining gardens, lawns and shared outdoor areas to a high standard while contributing to a welcoming and well-presented environment.

The successful candidate will bring practical gardening experience, confidence using gardening machinery and equipment, and a strong commitment to quality, safety and attention to detail.

• Maintain gardens, lawns and outdoor areas to a high standard
• Carry out planting, fertilising, pruning and general garden maintenance
• Operate gardening equipment and machinery including ride-on lawn mowers and line trimmers
• Maintain shared outdoor spaces in a clean, safe and presentable condition
• Work collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe operating practices
• Identify and address general grounds maintenance requirements
• Support the overall presentation and upkeep of the organisation's outdoor environment

• Previous experience in gardening, grounds keeping or a similar role
• Practical experience using gardening equipment and machinery
• Ability to operate ride-on lawn mowers, line trimmers and related equipment
• Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional attitude with good attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability for casual weekday shifts
• Willingness to complete required police vetting and employment checks
• Willingness to meet applicable workplace health requirements
