Commercial Vehicle Fabricator

A leading commercial vehicle manufacturing and modification company in New Zealand is seeking an experienced Vehicle Fabricator / Motor Body Builder to join its growing workshop team. This role involves building and fitting out commercial vehicles including utility vehicles, refrigerated trucks, tourism vans, and mobile workspaces.

• Fabricate and assemble steel or alloy truck and van bodies
• Read and interpret technical drawings and plans accurately
• Perform MIG/TIG welding and general steel/aluminium fabrication work
• Install subframes, floors, body panels, toolboxes, and structural components
• Complete vehicle interior fit-outs including cabinetry, insulation, and linings
• Install and wire 12V and 24V electrical systems including lighting and switches
• Work collaboratively with workshop staff to meet production deadlines
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and safety standards at all times

• Previous experience as a Vehicle Fabricator, Motor Body Builder, or similar trade
• Strong welding and fabrication experience with steel and aluminium
• Ability to read and interpret workshop drawings and measurements
• Experience with vehicle fit-outs and structural assembly work
• Basic automotive electrical knowledge is advantageous
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
