Drainage Operators & Drainlayer

An established and highly regarded civil construction company is looking for experienced Drainlayers, Drainage Operators, Drainage Labourers, 20T Excavator Operators and Multi-Skilled Operators with Class 4 to join its growing team in Otago, New Zealand.

• Installing stormwater and sewer pipelines
• Installing pressure and gravity drainage infrastructure
• Working on wastewater pump stations and treatment systems
• Installing water treatment equipment and infrastructure
• Operating 20T excavators and other heavy machinery
• Carrying out drainage and civil construction works
• Performing PE welding where required
• Undertaking confined space work in accordance with safety procedures
• Installing telecommunications and power utilities
• Completing concrete construction and related works
• Assisting with landscaping and site reinstatement
• Operating loaders, compactors and other construction equipment
• Following project specifications, procedures and safety requirements
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and productivity
• Working collaboratively with supervisors, operators and other site personnel
• Identifying and resolving construction challenges efficiently
• Maintaining a strong focus on environmental and community impacts

• Previous experience in civil construction, drainage or a similar industry
• Relevant experience as a Drainlayer, Drainage Operator, Excavator Operator or Drainage Labourer
• Experience operating excavators, loaders or compaction equipment is advantageous
• Current and clean Class 2 driver's licence
• Class 4 licence is advantageous
• WTR endorsement is advantageous
• Experience operating additional heavy machinery is desirable
• Strong work ethic and reliable attitude
• Flexible and adaptable approach to different tasks and projects
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good problem-solving and forward-thinking skills
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Ability to work approximately 50 hours per week
• Commitment to quality workmanship and professional standards
• Willingness to relocate to Otago, New Zealand if applying from outside the region
