The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Duty Manager to join a well-established hospitality venue in Auckland. This is an excellent opportunity for a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service and leading high-performing front-of-house teams.

Working closely with senior management, you will oversee daily venue operations, supervise staff, maintain compliance with hospitality regulations, and ensure guests receive an exceptional dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day venue operations during rostered shifts
  • Lead, supervise, and support front-of-house team members
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Manage reservations, customer enquiries, and guest feedback
  • Coordinate and supervise private functions, events, and group bookings
  • Assist with staff rostering and workforce planning
  • Support recruitment, induction, and training of front-of-house employees
  • Ensure compliance with alcohol licensing, food safety, and workplace health and safety requirements
  • Open and close the venue in accordance with company procedures
  • Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the venue
  • Complete cash handling, end-of-day reconciliation, and POS reporting
  • Assist with ordering, stock control, inventory management, and stock rotation
  • Monitor labour costs, stock levels, and operational performance
  • Act as the certified Duty Manager during rostered shifts and ensure legal compliance

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Minimum two years of experience in Duty Manager, Restaurant Supervisor, or Hospitality Management roles
  • Proven leadership experience managing hospitality teams
  • Experience with stock control, inventory management, and cost control
  • Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience coordinating events and group bookings is advantageous
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced hospitality environment
  • Experience using POS systems and reservation platforms
  • Current New Zealand LCQ qualification
  • Current New Zealand Manager's Certificate
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Willingness to relocate or reliably commute within the Auckland region as required
