Hairdresser/Barber

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Hairdresser or Barber to join a professional and supportive salon team in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT).

This role is suitable for a professional Hairdresser with strong skills in women’s cutting, colouring and styling, along with barbering and men’s haircut experience, or a skilled Barber with strong expertise in men’s cuts, fades and barbering, with some experience in women’s hair services.

Candidates with confidence and experience in both hairdressing and barbering are highly regarded. Those with strong skills in one area and a willingness to develop their abilities in the other are also encouraged to apply.

• Perform professional haircuts, styling, colouring and other hair services according to client requirements
• Provide women’s cutting, colouring and styling services where applicable
• Deliver professional men’s haircuts, fades, beard grooming and other barbering services
• Consult with clients to understand their preferred hairstyle and recommend suitable services
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and client care
• Stay up to date with current hairdressing and barbering trends and techniques
• Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic workstation
• Use salon equipment, products and tools safely and professionally
• Build positive relationships with clients and contribute to a supportive team environment
• Assist with maintaining high standards of service and overall salon presentation
• Continue developing skills in both hairdressing and barbering where required

• Relevant professional experience as a Hairdresser or Barber
• Strong skills in either women’s hairdressing or men’s barbering
• Experience in both hairdressing and barbering will be highly regarded
• Ability to perform professional cutting, styling, colouring or barbering services
• Strong knowledge of current hair and grooming techniques
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop new skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team
• Relevant qualifications in hairdressing or barbering will be highly regarded
