Site Engineer

An established infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join its growing civil construction team in ACT. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer with Australian site experience to take responsibility for engineering, quality assurance, documentation and day-to-day project delivery across major structural concrete and infrastructure works.

The role involves working closely with project managers, site supervisors, clients and major construction contractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to required quality standards.

• Manage site quality assurance systems, including ITPs, hold and witness points, lot documentation and conformance records
• Prepare, maintain and close out quality documentation, NCRs and final handover records
• Attend site inspections, walks and progress meetings with clients and head contractors
• Provide engineering support and represent the company on technical matters
• Monitor construction progress and maintain the project program against agreed milestones
• Identify potential delays and communicate program issues to the project management team
• Coordinate ordering and delivery of construction materials, plant and site consumables
• Support site teams with setout, reinforcement inspections, concrete pour preparation and daily construction activities
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation
• Prepare and manage RFIs and technical queries through to resolution
• Assist with reinforcement scheduling, ordering, fixing supervision and quality compliance
• Work collaboratively with supervisors and construction crews to maintain efficient site delivery
• Support implementation of site safety, environmental and quality requirements
• Maintain accurate engineering and project documentation throughout the construction process
• Contribute to successful project completion and preparation of final handover documentation

• Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Site Engineer on structural concrete projects in Australia
• Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
• Strong understanding of construction quality systems and ITP-based delivery
• Ability to confidently interpret structural drawings, engineering specifications and construction documentation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for technical and quality documentation
• Previous experience with QA documentation, inspections, NCRs and conformance records
• White Card
• Current Australian driver's licence
• Ability to obtain required ACT site inductions and project access clearances
• Ability to work effectively on active civil construction sites
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with project managers, supervisors, contractors and site crews
• A proactive, practical and team-oriented approach to construction delivery
• Bridge construction experience will be highly regarded
• Experience with dams, spillways or water infrastructure will be highly regarded
• Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction contractors will be highly regarded
• Reinforcement management experience will be highly regarded
• Willingness to learn, take responsibility and develop within a growing infrastructure business
