Mechanical Engineer

An established and respected engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join its growing team in New Zealand. • Design and deliver mechanical building services engineering solutions across a variety of projects
• Manage mechanical engineering projects from concept through to completion
• Prepare technical designs, specifications, calculations, reports, and project documentation
• Apply strong engineering principles to develop safe, practical, efficient, and innovative solutions
• Work across residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial, and other building services projects
• Analyse engineering requirements and resolve technical and design challenges
• Coordinate mechanical designs with clients, consultants, contractors, and other project stakeholders
• Monitor project progress, quality, budgets, and delivery requirements
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients and project partners
• Identify opportunities to contribute to business development and future project opportunities
• Provide technical input and support to project teams
• Participate in design reviews, meetings, site visits, and project coordination activities
• Maintain high standards of engineering quality, safety, and compliance
• Contribute knowledge and ideas within a collaborative engineering environment
• Support continuous improvement and the development of technical capabilities within the team

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering
• Significant experience in mechanical building services, industrial engineering, or consulting engineering
• Demonstrated experience delivering and managing engineering projects of varying size and complexity
• Strong mechanical design, analytical, technical, and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience working with clients, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple project requirements and meet deadlines
• Strong understanding of safe, practical, and efficient engineering solutions
• Ability to develop and maintain long-term client relationships
• Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business development
• Chartered Professional Engineer status or progress towards professional registration is highly regarded
• Ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership of assigned projects
• Commitment to quality, flexibility, teamwork, professional development, and a positive workplace culture
• Eligible to work in New Zealand or able to obtain the appropriate work visa
