Production Team Member/Supervisor

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Production Operator / Supervisor to join a growing food manufacturing business in New Zealand. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on food production experience who can confidently oversee daily manufacturing activities while maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, hygiene and workplace safety.

Working closely with the Production Manager and a small, collaborative team, you will play an important role in producing consistent, high-quality food products. The position offers a hands-on working environment where you will be involved across the full production process, from ingredient batching and machine operation through to cleaning and daily washdowns.

• Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet scheduled production targets
• Batch and manufacture products according to production schedules
• Accurately follow recipes, production procedures and specifications
• Weigh and prepare ingredients accurately while checking product quality
• Operate production machinery including mixers, fillers and other manufacturing equipment
• Ensure products are consistently produced to required quality standards
• Monitor production performance and identify opportunities for improvement
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practice standards
• Complete cleaning, sanitation and daily production washdowns
• Ensure production orders are completed accurately and on time
• Assist with training team members and supporting production requirements
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe production environment
• Work collaboratively with production team members and management
• Follow all workplace Health & Safety and food safety procedures
• Support the business with additional production activities and operational requirements as needed

• Proven experience as a Production Supervisor, Team Leader or similar manufacturing leadership role
• Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment
• Experience working within an approved food control plan environment
• Hands-on experience with food production processes
• Experience operating manufacturing machinery, particularly mixers and fillers
• Strong understanding of food safety, quality control and workplace hygiene
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when following recipes and production procedures
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
• Physically capable of performing repetitive production and cleaning tasks
• Willingness to work across all areas of the production process
• Strong work ethic, reliability and a positive attitude
• Ability to learn new machinery and production processes quickly
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to meet daily production targets and deadlines
• Strong commitment to cleanliness and maintaining a high standard of the workplace
• Current forklift licence is highly desirable
