The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Automotive Technician to join a well-established automotive dealership. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining passenger and light commercial vehicles while supporting junior technicians and ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on passenger and light commercial vehicles
Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and scheduled inspections
Perform brake, suspension, engine, and drivetrain repairs
Use advanced diagnostic equipment and software to identify vehicle faults
Provide accurate repair assessments and estimated completion times
Communicate effectively with service advisors regarding vehicle repairs
Assist customers by identifying and resolving vehicle concerns
Mentor and support apprentice and junior technicians
Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation
Ensure all work complies with manufacturer standards and workplace health and safety requirements
Stay up to date with the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques
Work collaboratively with the workshop team to deliver high-quality customer service

Requirements & Eligibility

Trade qualification in Automotive Engineering or equivalent recognised qualification
Minimum five years of experience as an Automotive Technician
Strong diagnostic, fault-finding, and repair skills
Experience working in a dealership or high-volume automotive workshop is preferred
Knowledge of modern vehicle systems, including hybrid and electric vehicles, is advantageous
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
Current full driver's licence
Reliable, motivated, and able to work independently and within a team
