Registered Nurse - Inpatient Unit

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse to join a leading specialist healthcare provider in the Manawatū-Whanganui region of New Zealand.

This permanent 0.8 FTE position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality, person-centred nursing care within a supportive multidisciplinary team. You will play an important role in delivering holistic care to patients with life-limiting conditions while supporting their families throughout their healthcare journey.

The role involves working rostered shifts across seven days, including weekends and some night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who are passionate about delivering exceptional care in a collaborative clinical environment.

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with complex healthcare needs
• Deliver holistic, person-centred care while maintaining dignity and respect
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised nursing care
• Administer medications and monitor patient progress
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals
• Support patients and their families through all stages of care
• Maintain accurate clinical records using electronic patient management systems
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, policies and best practice guidelines
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives
• Work rostered shifts including weekends, evenings and night shifts

• Current New Zealand Registered Nurse Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
• Strong general nursing experience
• Previous palliative care experience is desirable but not essential
• Commitment to continuing professional development
• Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience using electronic patient management systems
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
• Understanding of culturally safe healthcare practices
• Willingness to work flexible rostered shifts
