Store Manager

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Store Manager to lead a high-performing outdoor retail operation in Otago, New Zealand. This role is ideal for a commercially minded retail leader who enjoys being active on the shop floor, developing people, and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

You will take ownership of daily store performance while guiding a close-knit team and creating a positive, energetic retail environment. • Lead and motivate the store team to achieve sales and customer service objectives
• Take a hands-on approach to leadership and actively support the team on the retail floor
• Coach team members to strengthen sales performance, product knowledge, and customer engagement
• Build a positive and collaborative team culture through effective communication and mentoring
• Oversee daily store operations and ensure efficient administration processes
• Manage stock levels, merchandising, inventory accuracy, and operational standards
• Monitor store performance against commercial targets and key performance indicators
• Identify opportunities to improve sales, customer experience, and operational efficiency
• Support staff development through internal training and learning programs
• Work closely with the Assistant Manager and regional leadership team to achieve business goals
• Maintain high standards of presentation, service, compliance, and workplace organisation
• Represent the values of the outdoor and adventure industry through knowledgeable customer service

• Proven experience in retail leadership, preferably as a Store Manager or Senior Assistant Manager
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate a retail team
• Strong sales and customer service skills with a commercial mindset
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to lead by example on the shop floor
• Good administrative, organisational, and operational management capabilities
• Experience managing stock, store processes, and retail performance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop team capability through coaching and ongoing training
• Genuine passion for outdoor activities, adventure, technical apparel, or outdoor equipment
• Ability to work effectively within a close-knit team environment
