The Opportunity

We are seeking a reliable, energetic and compassionate Life Facilitator to join a dedicated 24/7 support team assisting a highly motivated tetraplegic client. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, supporting daily routines, personal care, activities and ongoing commitments.

The successful candidate will work closely with the client and the wider support team to help maintain an active, comfortable and engaging lifestyle. Comprehensive training will be provided by the client and existing team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support with personal care and daily living activities
  • Support the client with daily routines, appointments and personal commitments
  • Work collaboratively with the client's 24/7 support team
  • Assist with driving and accompanying the client to work, family and other commitments
  • Provide companionship and maintain a positive, engaging environment
  • Follow the client's care plan, routines and support requirements
  • Assist with morning, afternoon, evening and overnight support as rostered
  • Participate in sleepover shifts when required
  • Communicate effectively with the client and other team members
  • Maintain a professional, respectful and trustworthy approach at all times
  • Use initiative and common sense when responding to day-to-day needs
  • Adapt to changing schedules, activities and client requirements
  • Support the client during travel where required
  • Attend training and follow established workplace procedures
  • Contribute positively to a reliable and coordinated 24/7 support environment

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Previous experience in disability, healthcare, support work or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum NZQA Health and Wellbeing Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards it
  • Must hold a valid driver's licence
  • Strong availability for rostered shifts
  • Ability to work day shifts from approximately 7am–5pm
  • Ability to work night shifts from approximately 5pm–7am, including sleepovers
  • Availability for at least two weekend shifts per month
  • Strong afternoon and evening availability
  • Ability to commit to approximately 35 hours per week
  • Ability to work approximately 2–4 rostered shifts per week
  • Good understanding of 24/7 roster coordination
  • Experience following care plans and job descriptions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, honest and trustworthy character
  • Reliable, punctual and responsible approach to work
  • Energetic, positive and engaging personality
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and circumstances
  • Good practical problem-solving and common-sense approach
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to anticipate support needs
  • Willingness to work as part of a close-knit support team
  • Commitment to making the client's needs a priority
