Utility Arborists

An excellent opportunity is available for qualified or experienced Utility Arborists to join a leading vegetation management and infrastructure services provider in the Waikato Region.

Working across a variety of sites, you will play an important role in maintaining the safety and reliability of essential utility networks by carrying out vegetation management around power lines and network infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to work with specialised equipment while developing your arboriculture and utility maintenance skills within a supportive and safety-focused environment.

• Carry out vegetation management around power lines and utility infrastructure
• Perform tree pruning, trimming and vegetation clearance in accordance with safety standards
• Operate elevated work platforms (EWPs) and specialised equipment where qualified
• Maintain safe clearances around electrical network assets
• Inspect work sites and identify vegetation hazards
• Follow industry regulations, safety procedures and environmental requirements
• Work effectively as part of a professional field team
• Operate and maintain equipment, tools and PPE
• Complete daily work records and required documentation
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
• Support emergency response and overtime work when required
• Maintain high standards of customer service and workplace safety

• Minimum NZQA Level 2 Utility Arboriculture qualification or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of utility arboriculture or relevant vegetation management experience
• EWP operating experience is highly desirable
• Good level of physical fitness and ability to work outdoors
• Full, clean New Zealand driver's licence (Class 2 preferred)
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety
• Positive attitude with the ability to work well in a team
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug screening
• Clear Ministry of Justice (MOJ) record
